Before she began working at the ROC Bookstore in September 2006, Amy spent 10 years teaching preschoolers at FBR's Little Learners Preschool. Amy's love of learning and love for people make her the perfect fit for our bookstore. She is often the first smile someone sees as they enter the ROC during the week, and she is always ready and willing to spend time talking with and ministering to anyone in need.
Amy grew up in Denison, Iowa, where her father was the pastor of a small Southern Baptist Church. Though she grew up in Iowa, she is enamored with anything British. She can often be heard saying, "Anything spoken with a British accent just sounds better!" And then she demonstrates, proving her point. Amy is a fan of color, but her least favorite is orange, which is odd because her favorite animal, the tiger, wears the color beautifully.
Amy loves John 1:14. It reminds her that just as Jesus himself came and lived among us, sacrificing his very life to reconcile us to his Father, she is to live each and every day to the best of her ability, in obedience to what she knows is truth - God's Word. The verse also reminds her that Christ is full of grace because she often falls short of that goal.
"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14
