Safety & Fieldtrips
First Baptist Raytown has provided a wonderful, large clean environment in which students can enjoy their classes. One of our best features is that all the side doors of the building are always locked. There is only one main entrance to the building and a security guard sits at that location. Safety is a priority at Discovery Homeschool Academy. Teachers all carry CB’s so communication is easy and quick when needed.

Throughout the school year, Discovery organizes a variety of fieldtrips, such as the Shatto Milk Company, The Marble Factory, The Cotery Theatre and Kalediscope, The Puppetry Institute and much more. We are always open to new ideas on places you would like for us to coordinate. Our fieldtrips are scheduled on a different day of the week. Each month, the Discovery newsletter will inform you of trip details so that you can decide if you would like to join in. Group rates and going with homeschool friends is always a plus!

Parent Meetings
Throughout the year, we offer optional parent meetings on topics such as How to Deal with Distractions, Record Keeping, Home-made Games, etc. We also strive to answer any questions and encourage every parent! Occasionally guest speakers will be available to share their expertise and insight. Join us and look forward to being inspired!
