At FBR, we understand that 5th and 6th graders feel a little out of place since they aren't one of the little kids anymore and they aren't quite teenagers yet. That's why we have a specific preteen ministry just for them.

Bible Study
Your preteen isn’t quite a teenager yet, and they don’t learn the same way as a young child anymore, so we have a special schedule just for your pre-teen. We offer Bible study classes for 5th and 6th graders at both 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. That way pre-teens can attend worship with their parents during either worship hour. Click here for a complete list of Bible study classes.
Weekly Activities
WaM - Children’s Choir
WaM is Worship, Arts, Music and is proving to be a big hit with our 1st through 6th graders. Kids get to choose their small group from areas like drama, dance, media, solo coaching, art and instruments. In addition to the small group of their choice, everyone goes to choir each week. WaM runs from September through December, culminating with a concert in November and our annual Christmas program in December. In January, we begin our spring musical to be presented in May. For more information, email Lynn Lewallen at llewallen@firstbaptistraytown.com.
RA’s (Royal Ambassadors)
Looking for ways to serve? Looking for ways to share Jesus with others? Looking for good Christian friends? The place your child will find all of the above is in RA’s! This program is for boys in 1st-6th grade. They meet on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 p.m. RA’s will meet September 7 through November.
GA’s (Girls in Action)
GA’s is for girls (1st-6th grade) who are interested in learning about and taking part in missions. They meet each Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Meetings are packed with fun things like learning about the lifestyles of missionaries, ministry projects, and praying for missionaries. Girls who join GA’s will learn to develop a global awareness for Jesus’ love for all people everywhere, no matter where they live. GA’s will meet September 7 through November.
Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ)
What a great opportunity for your child to hide God’s word in their hearts! More than 500 Bible facts may be learned if your child attends Bible Quiz all seven years. Kindergarten-6th grade children compete in quiz matches with other area churches on the first Saturday of each month. Bible Quiz runs from August to March.
2011-12 Practices begin on Sunday, August 7 at 5:00 p.m.
