Marriage on the Rock
Marriage on the Rock is a marriage mentoring program for couples who are considering engagement, marriage, or who are recently married and experiencing difficulties. Marriage on the Rock provides a point of contact and a source of wise counsel for those desiring to have a marriage that is based on biblical principles.
 What is Marriage Mentoring?
Mentoring is the process of providing wise advice and instruction. Our mentors are not professional counselors, rather, they are lay-ministers sharing their training and experiences, and leading by example. Our mentors are couples who have committed their time to be trained - both initially and continuously - to be able to advise productively. Mentors are assigned based on common situations, personalities and life experiences to provide support and encouragement.
What is Involved?
In your four to six sessions, you will complete a survey that will provide the basis for discussion. Topics to be  discussed usually include:
- Survey results
- Family background
- Mutual goals and plans
- Finances and budgets
- Communication skills
- Conflict resolution
- Intimacy
In addition, after your initial sessions, you may also schedule post-marital sessions.
Cost
There are no fees for the mentoring sessions themselves, but the surveys and profiles may cost between $40 to $75, depending on what is needed. If the survey costs create a financial hardship, subsidies and scholarships are available.
