If you think the Apple Festival is just another craft fair, think again. The Apple Festival is an annual fundraising and family event that benefits the children of Missouri Baptist Children’s Home. A variety of handmade crafts and quilts are donated from all over the state to be auctioned and sold at the Festival. Crafts and quilts for the Apple Festival will be displayed in the front lobby on Sunday, August 22. If you would like to donate a quilt or craft, contact JoAnn Munden at 763-6186. Be sure to join us at the Apple Festival for crafts, quilts, a kids’ area, and apple-related foods on September 11 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at First Baptist Raytown.

WaM, Preschool Praise’ntations and Student Choir kick off on Sunday, September 12 at 5 p.m. Here’s what’s in store for your kids:

First through sixth graders, join us for the return of WaM. You’ll get to choose a small group like art, dance, drama, instruments, media or solo coaching as we prepare for our fall program. WaM is NOT just for singers, there’s something for everyone. Register on Sunday morning, September 12, to be sure and get in the group you want! The ROC Fitness Center will host Bark in the Park dog walk on Saturday, September 25 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Henry C. Kritser Park, located at 75th & Westridge. Bark in the Park is a fun-filled day for the whole family. Start with a beautiful walk through the park with your canine companion, browse a vendor tent, shop the pet mall, watch the many exciting and spectacular demonstrations, grab a snack or treat, and much more! Best of all, it’s free! From 11 a.m.-noon, come check out the pet contests - Best Dressed Dog, Best Pet Tricks, and Owner/Pet Look-a-Like. Make sure to take in some of the exciting and entertaining activities including agility, petting zoo, and carnival games for dogs. You and your pup won’t want to miss the first ever Bark in the Park.
Tuesdays beginning September 28 | 6:30 a.m. & 7 p.m.
Beginning September 28, guys, we are going to gather to study John Eldredge’s book, Wild at Heart, the recovery of the masculine heart. We have two different times set up - one at 6:30 a.m. and one at 7 p.m. Pick the one that best fits your schedule. We know schedules can change, so feel free to switch times as needed. Both times will be identical, so you won’t miss anything by switching times. This will be a video-driven study led by Clay Withers. Wild at Heart will be available for $10 in the ROC Bookstore.

Bring a buddy from work and gather with lots of guys who work close to the specific location for an hour of great food (everyone pays their own way) and fellowship in a very casual, non-church gathering with an inspirational 5-10 minute talk around the table. Here’s where we’ll be:

If you’re making plans to attend the Women of Faith “Imagine” conference on November 5 and 6, you should have already received your information on how to purchase your tickets and join the group from JOY at First Baptist Raytown. If you haven’t yet made plans, there’s still time. The conference will be held at the Sprint Center. JOY has 25 reserved seats for the conference, and tickets are $89 for the entire conference, including a box lunch for both days. Awana club meetings are jam-packed with life changing experiences! The clubs are led by trained leaders with a love for the Lord and for children. Each week consists of games, Bible memorization and lots of fun! This program is open to children in kindergarten through the 6th grade. AWANA begins in the ROC gym at 6:15 and runs til 8:15 p.m on Wednesday evenings. Register here.

Celebrate Recovery is a life-changing ministry for individuals seeking freedom from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.
Bring your hurts, habits and hang-ups! We are currently addressing men's and women's chemical dependency, codependency, sexual addiction, and offering support for spouses of the sexually addicted.
Following the open share group meetings, we have a coffee and fellowship time. Come experience God's healing power and freedom with others going through a Christ-centered recovery. Celebrate Recovery meets on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in B101. Childcare is available by reservation only.

Divorce Care meets each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in B112 and is open to members and non-members. Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. Each meeting consists of a DVD driven seminar and concludes with open discussion. Join us as each session is self contained, therefore you may join at anytime. There is a one-time $6 cost for the workbook, no reservations are necessary. JobLinks is a ministry of First Baptist Raytown for those needing job search assistance, prayer, and support during unemployment. JobLinks meets on the second Monday of each month in the Fellowship Hall. Tips on writing a good resume and effectively presenting your skills in an interview are available to participants.
