Continuing the Legacy: A Day of Celebration

Throughout our long history, our church has maintained an unwavering legacy. We have always been a church that stands firmly on God’s Word, helps believers grow in their walk, serves the hurting in our community, and most importantly tells the lost about Jesus. We are able to carry on this legacy of deeply rooted faith in God because of the freedom we are blessed to have in this country. On Sunday, July 2, we are asking everyone to attend both worship hours for a full morning of celebrating our faith, freedom, and future.

Summer LifeShare Groups

LifeShare groups will officially begin on Wednesday, June 7, but we’ll kick off the LifeShare season with a GroupLink event on Sunday, June 4, when you can find out more about all of the groups and pick the one that is perfect for you! What is LifeShare? LifeShare groups are fun activity-based groups that are designed to help you build relationships with others who like to do what you like to do.

Here’s just a sample of what we have in store for you this summer:

Summer Precept Bible Study

Our summer Precept Bible study, Spiritual Warfare: Overcoming the Enemy, begins Thursday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. Are you prepared for battle? Whether you realize it or not, you live in the midst of spiritual combat. Your enemy, the devil, is dangerous, destructive, and determined to keep you from effectively serving God. In order to defend yourself against his attacks, you need to know how the enemy operates. Through this six-week study, you will gain knowledge of the enemy's tactics and schemes.

Jubilee Singers

The Jubilee Singers, made up of senior adults who enjoy singing, will perform Sunday, May 21, at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to attend. If you are interested in joining the Jubilee Singers, contact Betty Barr at 816-525-1322.

Undie Sunday

Undie Sunday? What does that mean?! Undie Sunday is a day to bring brand new socks and undergarments to donate to the Hope Network. We’re asking everyone to bring a package of underwear in your size or your child’s size. The biggest need is underwear of all sizes, but bras, socks, and men’s t-shirts are also needed. Undie Sunday is Sunday, May 21. You can drop your donation in the red barrels located just inside the church entrances.

Bark in the Park

First Baptist Raytown’s Bark in the Park is a FREE event and offers something for the entire family, including the four-legged members, and it’s coming back to Kenagy Park on Saturday, May 20, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. We’ll have canine and human vendors, demonstrations, and activities.
