Our goals in JOY ministry are to first of all bring women into a personal relationship with Christ and second to help them to grow in that relationship and in relationships with one another on a deeper level. We hope to offer a good variety of places and events for women of all ages and backgrounds to connect and get involved and we would love for you to be a part. Our Bible studies are the heart of our ministry and are complimented by other activities and events throughout the year. We are always adding activities to our schedule and always looking for new ladies to connect with.

Summer Bible Study
JOY has an exciting new study for you this summer! Join us during the month of June on either Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 a.m. or Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Student Underground for Jumpstart Your Heart, a four-week study to jumpstart your heart with God and others. Cost is $5.
Each week you will put your eyes on the road through a video segment, start your engine with a question to get your battery juiced, charge your batter in personal study time, and hit the road as you live out what you've learned.
All homework for this study will be done during class time. The first session will be lead by co-authors Susan Campbell and Becky Adam!

STAND DOWN - KC 2012
Ladies, we have an awesome and easy opportunity to serve our nations veterans who also happen to be women and homeless right here in Kansas City.
The Heart of America STAND DOWN – KC 2012 will take place on June 8 & 9. This event annually provides goods and services to the homeless vets in the area. For the third year, there will be a women’s gallery which will focus on providing clothing, toiletries, shoes, and other needed items to the homeless female vets. There are over 250 homeless female vets in the metropolitan KC area who live in tents, vacant buildings, in shelters, and with relatives. The common thread for these women is: 1) They are vets and 2)They are homeless (they don’t have a permanent residence).
JOY ministry is asking you to participate by donating sturdy/heavy tote style bags – large enough and sturdy enough to hold their life possessions. (They are homeless so they will need to carry all the items they receive with them.) We ask that the bags be new or very gently used.
You may bring the bags to the church and place in the boxes provided for collection marked “JOY” anytime between now and June 1.
For more information about this event go to: www.kcstanddown.org

It’s simple: bring the coupons you don’t need to exchange for ones you do. Couponing not your thing? Drop off your Sunday newspaper coupon inserts to help others save.
